Hi, I am PJ – that is me above with the glasses!
Originally from the UK, I’ve been happily settled in Nerja with my family for the past 25 years.
Many of you will know me from the various bars I have run over the years…
I have hosted everything from live music nights with some of the best bands on the coast to the legendary BIG Pub Quiz every Monday night and it is still going strong!
These days, I also run PJ’s Bar in Nerja – the heart and home of the Axarquia Social Club.
I started the Axarquia Social Club five years ago with one simple idea – to bring people together for good times, fresh experiences, lots of laughs and unforgettable adventures!
What started with local day trips soon grew into memory-making mini-breaks… and now we are even setting sail on cruises together!
Humble beginnings to a thriving community – we have come a long way…

Where do trips depart from?
Our trips depart from several convenient pickup points from Nerja, Torrox and Torre del Mar.

How do I book a trip?
Booking your spot on one of our trips is easy!
All tickets can be purchased directly through our website using a bank card for fast, secure checkout.
Prefer to pay manually? No problem – we also accept Bizum and Revolut.
If you are local or just fancy a chat, you’re always welcome to pop into PJ’s Bar in Nerja and pay in cash.
However you choose to pay, we recommend booking early to secure your place – trips fill up fast!
Do I need a passport for mini breaks or cruises?
Yes – for any of our international mini breaks or cruises, you’ll need a valid passport.
It’s your responsibility to make sure it’s up to date and has any necessary visas (if required for your nationality).
Trips within Spain, no passport is needed, but we do recommend carrying some form of ID.
If you’re ever unsure about what you need for a specific trip, just ask – we are happy to guide you through it.
Are meals or entrance tickets included?
It depends on the trip!
Some of our outings include entrance tickets to events, guided tours, or attractions, and others may include meals or set menus.
Each trip listing on the website will clearly explain what’s included in the price.
We always aim to give great value and keep things transparent, so there are no surprises.
If you’re ever unsure, just check the trip details or drop us a message – we are happy to clarify anything.
What if I have limited mobility?
We do our best to make our trips as accessible as possible, but it really depends on the destination and itinerary.
Some trips involve walking, stairs, or uneven ground, while others are more relaxed.
If you have limited mobility or specific needs, we strongly recommend getting in touch before booking so we can advise on whether a particular trip is suitable.

Absolutely – solo travellers are more than welcome!
In fact, many of our members join us on their own and quickly make new friends along the way.
The Axarquia Social Club is all about community, and you’ll never feel out of place.
If you are coming for a day trip, a mini break, or a cruise, there’s always a friendly face and good company waiting for you.
Do you allow pets on trips?
As much as we love our furry friends, unfortunately pets are not allowed on our trips.
This helps us ensure the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of all our passengers – especially on longer journeys, shared transport, and overnight stays.
We appreciate your understanding and recommend making arrangements for your pet to be cared for while you are away.
